Mihir KantiNANDY(Hexham). Peacefully in Haltwhistle Memorial Hospital on 5th August 2023 aged 84 years. Dr; Mihir Kanti Nandy dearly loved husband of Hazel and father of Rachel, will be sadly missed by all family, friends, former colleagues and patients. Private Cremation at Mountsett Crematorium Dipton. Followed by A Service of Thanksgiving at Trinity Methodist Church Hexham on Wednesday 16th August at 12.30 pm. Please wear bright colours, especially red. Family flowers only, donations to be shared between Motor Neurone Disease Association and Tynedale Hospice at Home, c/o Dodd's of Hexham NE46 2EW

I liked Dr Nandy. He was a good human being, not ‘just’ a doctor. He saved body and helped me get on with my life again more than he will ever know…back in 1985 after an RTA, becoming a paraplegic and spending ten months in Hexham Spinal Injuries Unit. He showed me that doctors like him, cared about the person not just the patient. I owe him my respect, love and gratitude. RIP Dr Nandy.x
